Notes about the German versions of this volume:
1st edition published as a Manuscript with a different title, 1926. 2nd edition (first book version) 1937, reprinted 1959 and 1964. 5th revised edition 1971. Reprinted 1975, 1982, and 1991. Professionally stenographically recorded by Helene Finckh, the text is based on her initial typed reconstruction. For the 1971 edition the text was compared to the original stenogram, which yielded a whole series of corrections. Upon review, the initial reconstruction contained numerous typos and short omissions. These were restored, making the 1971 edition significanly different from the earlier editions.
