Notes about the German versions of this volume:
1st edition 1958. 2nd edition of 1987 added illustrations derived from Steiner's blackboard drawings. Professionally stenographically recorded by Helene Finckh, the first versions were printed from her initial reconstruction. Multiple people worked editorially beginning in 1920 to smooth the text and render it comprehensible in print. Part of the effort was necessitated by the vagueness of certain sections where Steiner spoke about his blackboard drawings while gesturing. The text alone did not convey anything comprehensible, and a lot of dicussion went into determining what was ultimately meant, and then deciding how the print version would go. This volume has extensive notes where the editors researched and explained the concepts Steiner was indicating (particularly pertaining to astronomy).
